Juice fasting for weight loss, One of the hottest trends

Posted on 16:04 by Unknown
One of the hottest trends in the weight loss industry is juice fasting. The popularity of juice fast stems largely from the fact that they result in rapid weight loss. However, the question remains whether or not juice fasting actually works for permanent weight loss. This article will discuss various aspects of juice fasting for weight loss including how it works, how it affects your body and whether or not it is worth doing.

It seems like most people who are trying to lose weight are looking for a "quick fix" that will allow them to lose weight as fast as possible. In this regard juice fasting fits the bill. Most people who go on juice fasts lose an average of a pound a day - more at the beginning of the fast and then less toward the end. While that may initially sound like a great deal, there are a few things that you should be aware of before jumping in and trying a juice fast.

One of the major problems with juice fasting is that it does not provide your body with enough calories. When you lose weight on a fast you lose some fat, but you also lose muscle and water weight. The amount of lean muscle in your body determines how fast your metabolism runs. When you lose muscle your metabolism slows down as a result. That means that even as you are dropping weight on the fast your metabolism getting slower and slower.

Here's where things get sticky. When you reach the end of the fast and resume eating normally your metabolism is dragging. As a result it is highly likely that you will gain back every bit of weight that you lost while you were fasting. Not only that, but you may actually gain more weight than you lost, which obviously is not an ideal situation. This is because when you deprive your body of food for any length of time it doesn't know when its next meal will be coming so it grabs onto any food that you provide it and stores it away as fat in case you start starving again.

If you do decide to do a juice fast it is advisable not to stay on it too long. The longer you are on the fast the more likely you are to lose muscle mass and to have your body go into starvation mode and start storing away fat instead of using it. When you come off the fast come off gradually and reintroduce normal foods slowly to avoid as much weight gain as possible.

Preparation for water fasting

Posted on 08:59 by Unknown
One of the best ways to lose weight in the world is a water fasting. Not only it fastest way to lose weight but it also has many other big health benefits. One of its benefits is body cleansing. Yes, water fasting is very effective way for body detoxification. How does water fasting help you lose weight, boost health and energy?

The water fasting is the most natural way to lose weight, because mankind has long history of spring water fasting due to the food shortage in the ancient times. Let us discuss this further in order for us to understand water fasting better.

Fasting is a period of abstinence from all food except water. Also it can be a juice fasting and fasting during the day time until sunset. After the full absence of food for more then 3 days, the body will start detoxification and cleanse itself from unhealthy tissues. Basically the human fat is valued at 3,000 calories per pound. Each extra pound of fat will supply enough calories for one day of hard physical labor.

I've just finished my 11 days water fasting this week. During the time of fasting I wasn’t able to find any new good books about fasting on the market or in libraries so I decided to share my water fasting experience. Also I was I was shocked recently by astonishing fact that average Americans have 5-10 pounds of toxic and unhealthy materials in their bodies. “Thanks” to the food preservatives, fast food and overeating.

The idea to start fasting came to my mind when I was 21 years old and I did my first 4 days juice fasting right away. Through my experience of water fasting and many books, I’ve found for myself some rules I have to fallow to keep my water fasting safe and healthy. I’d like to share with you some of them and hope they will bring some help.

Preparation for water fasting. I start my preparation in couple of days before fasting by change diet toward lighter dishes, no red meat, only chicken and fish, fruit and vegetables, yogurt and soups. On last day before fasting: fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits on lunch, fruit and vegetables dishes on dinner. To monitor my digestion system performance and have a clue about enema use in time of fasting, I eat close to 10-11 pm my beet salad: 1 medium size cooked beet root with olive oil. So if I'll see red colored stool on the 1st day of fasting I will consider that my digesting system is working fine and there is no need for enema. If not, I will use enema right away.

One or two days water fasting. This is the nicest way to lose weight and get used to with fasting and prepare for longer water fast. If you've never done water fasting before, this is the only safe way to start your fasting experience, never do more then one day in the beginning. If your body overloaded with toxic material you have to make several one day fasting before considering bit longer water fasting. Always ask you doctor before fasting if you have health conditions and taking medicine. Some people can experience headache during one day water fasting, they should avoid drinking coffee before fasting. Best way to break one-two day fasting is to drink home made fresh juices for entire day and eat vegetables and fruits on the second day.

Three day fasting. Personally I don't like 3 days water fasting, because my digesting system is off after 2 days and to turn it on on the very next day is a lot of pain. I break 3 days fast by drinking vegetable and fruit juices, eating raw vegetable and fruits, on 3rd day I can eat vegetarian soups and light dishes. No meat, poultry allowed.

Seven to twelve days water fasting. It has to be 2-3 days preparation with light diet, no meat, alcohol and coffee; eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, fish and seafood, on the last day before fasting- vegetarian diet. Don’t forget about the beet salad test. Some authors and doctors recommend enema before bed. I personally don’t do that if my beet salad test’result is okay and use enema after 5th day.

How to break a long water fasting. I usually break my water fasting with vegetable juice like carrot juice, tomato or cucumber juice or combination of them. The longer was water fast the more water I add to the first juice and after 10-12 days fasting I usually add 50% of water to my first juice. Some authors recommend start eating with boiled for 2-3 sec and peeled tomato or with slice of watermelon or cabbage juice. I don't like watermelon due to high sugar level, cabbage juice irritates my digestive system a lot, but tomato and tomato juice work fine, just remove heavily waxed tomato's skin before.

Water fasting VS Juice Fasting

Posted on 08:57 by Unknown
We've all heard of the benefits of water-only fasting. You know, the weight loss, clear skin, the improved digestion, the elimination of toxins, etc. And we all want these results for ourselves.

What we don't want is the, well...the fast!

We don't want to feel fatigue. We don't want to feel uncomfortable. And we definitely don't want to feel hungry. But apparently there's a way we can have our cake and eat it too. It's a little thing called "juice fasting". So what exactly is juice fasting and can it really compare to fasting on nothing but water?

What's the difference?

A water fast, also called a "water-only fast", is just as it sounds. You consume nothing but water for a period of time. A typical long-term water fast lasts for about 21 days.

On the other hand, a juice fast consists of consuming nothing but raw fruit and vegetable juices. A typical juice fast lasts for about 30 days, although they can last for much much longer since you are still taking in fuel.

Fasting is Resting

Fasting is more than just not eating or only drinking juices. Fasting is really about RESTING.

And I don't just mean resting the digestive system either. I mean resting the entire body. This means taking a break from life's daily routine (i.e. getting up, going to work, taking care of the kids, going shopping, etc.) and sleeping as much as possible.

And when you aren't sleeping, you should be lying down (or at the very least, sitting down) for the vast majority of the day.

So now that we know a bit about water and juice fasting, is juice fasting really just as good as water fasting?

Juicing is Not Fasting

Consuming anything other than water, even if it is in liquid form, is not a real fast. As Dr. Joel Fuhrman states in his book Fasting and Eating for Health:

"Juice fasting is not truly fasting; biochemically the body does not enter the 'protein-sparing' fasting state. In this state the body conserves its muscle reserves and fat is preferentially broken down. This does not occur with juice fasting.

Juice fasting also does not have the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of the pure water fast that are essential for recovery in autoimmune illnesses."

During a water fast, your body goes into a state called ketosis. Ketosis occurs when the body runs out of glucose for fuel and has to turn to stored fat instead. This shift usually starts on the second day of fasting and is finished by the third day, but the rate of fat that is broken down will continue to increase for the next few days.

Not only does ketosis mean that your hunger will greatly diminish (even disappear) by day 3, but it also means that you will get rid of a lot of excess weight.

On a juice fast, ketosis never happens because you are still eating. Since you are still taking in glucose from food, your body does not have to turn to its own fat reserves for fuel.

Sure, your body may use some degree of stored fat if you are undereating on calories, but never to the extent that it will on a water fast. You can accomplish the same goal simply by dieting.

And if you are undereating, which many people tend to do while juice fasting, you will still be hungry. Remember, hunger only disappears on a water fast because you are no longer taking in any fuel.

And remember, fasting equates to resting. Juice fasting cannot compete with water fasting in this regard because your body still has to work to digest the juices you consume.

Juicing is Still Eating

Many people prefer juice fasting over water fasting because they equate not eating for a period of time with starvation. They are afraid that if they consume nothing but water for more than a couple of days that their body will start to consume its own healthy muscles, tissues, and organs.

This could not be further from the truth. Again from Fasting and Eating for Health:

"When no calories are consumed, the body is living off its nutritional stores, primarily its fat reserves. The innate wisdom of the body is such that while fasting, it will consume for its sustenance superfluous tissues, carefully conserving vital tissues and organs."

Human beings have evolved to fast when we are in poor health. You will notice that other animals do this as well; they lose their appetite and refuse to eat until their health is restored.

This would not make sense if once we stopped eating, our body immediately started catabolizing all of our healthy organs. Instead, the body uses up everything that is unnecessary or harmful, such as excess fat and diseased tissue.

And your body even has a signal to let you know when this process is over...HUNGER! You know when it's time to eat again once your hunger returns.

On a juice fast, you will never be able to experience the deep healing that occurs on water-only. Your body has to deal with the digestion of the juices you consume first and foremost rather than the elimination and repair of diseased and damaged cells.

NOTE: While water-only fasting is clearly an evolutionary survival mechanism, that's not to say that it isn't risky. People tend to be in very poor health, much more so than they often realize, and complications can and do occur during a long-term fast.

This is why it's always recommended for anyone planning to fast for more than a few days to seek qualified professional supervision.

Is There Any Reason to Juice Fast?

Not really. Remember, juiced foods are refined foods. Juiced foods have had their fiber removed and can no longer be considered a whole food.

And while people like to consume juices for cleansing and detox purposes, this is completely unnecessary on a simple whole foods diet. As long as you are eating a healthy raw vegan diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, then you have no reason to juice fast.

If you do feel the need to cleanse for whatever reason (i.e you spent the week munching on veggie burgers and vegan burritos, perhaps), take a trip to Banana Island (nothing but bananas and water) instead of juice fasting. Eating this simply for a few days or so will help you get back on track without sacrificing your need for calories and satiation.

And if you can take the time to rest, don't be afraid to opt for a short 1-3 day water fast.

Can Constipation Cause Back Pain and Other Problems?

Posted on 11:25 by Unknown
Can constipation cause back pain? Most people often associate constipation with back pain. For them, if they are suffering constipation, chances are, they will also encounter back pain problems. There is a logical explanation for such occurrence.

Constipation is a condition wherein a person undergoes difficult time excreting waste or stool from the body. In most instances, we have to defecate once or twice each day. Constipation may happen when an individual has a bowel movement fewer than thrice each week followed by dry, hard and painful stools. Experiencing recurring constipation isn’t normal and requires medical assistance because it can usually result in back pain.

What can constipation cause back pain reasons be? When the body has scarce water supply, or because of some other causes, waste material is often blocked in the lower intestine or colon. The stool will harden and becomes dry. It will then exert pressure on the lower intestine and the adjoining areas.

If the waste material is not removed from the body, the condition becomes worse. The body as will keep on secreting waste materials which will just be stuck and gives more pressure in the lower intestine. This pressure affects muscles and nerves in adjoining area ultimately results in back pain. So, can constipation cause back pain? It can.

Can Constipation Cause Back Pain and Other Problems?
Can constipation cause back pain and problems in other parts of the body? Can constipation cause sciatica? Sciatica is a pain caused by the pinching of the sciatic nerve. This condition causes pain that affects the lower back, buttocks, and legs. The pain can range from moderate to severe and can be felt in either one or both legs.

Constipation intensifies the pain experienced in sciatica. Straining at stool will increase the intra-abdominal pressure and could cause increased strain in the sciatic nerve. How about can constipation cause abdominal pain, can constipation cause chest pain, can constipation cause neck pain? The answer to all of these questions is yes.

Can Constipation Cause Back Pain Long Term Affects?
The good news regarding back pain issues is the fact that it is treatable if you know how to prevent constipation. The best solution for constipation would be drinking plenty of water as much as 8-10 glasses of water every single day. Drinking two glasses of water in a short period of time will also help. The said practice will keep you hydrated and at the same time makes your stool soft enough to be excreted out of the body. Purified water is healthier and preferred than tap water and plain bottled water. Wrong diet is the major cause of constipation. You should therefore include more fibrous food in your meal. Live vegetables are rich in fiber that you need for optimal digestion.

For back pain issues, regular exercise will do the trick. Exercise will keep your muscles toned. It will also stimulate healthy bowel movement ideal for constipation and back pain relief. Walking and swimming are great activities you can do. They are excellent cardiovascular workouts that strengthen your abdomen and take away back pain. In the end it will boil down to how well you take care of your body that will keep you away from your problem concerning can constipation cause back pain.

Back Pain Between Shoulder Blades, strikes virtually every person

Posted on 11:17 by Unknown
Back Pain Between Shoulder Blades - Back pain is something that strikes virtually every person around the world, both men and women of all ages. It's said over 80% of us will seek severe back pain relief at one time or another.

Causes...

While not as common as lower back discomfort, many people feel back pain between shoulder blades (the scapulas). This upper back pain between the shoulder scapula can be caused by a number of factors:

Being physically fit and trying to look good have never been more prevalent so... many young people spend a lot of time exercising. Often they are over-doing it, doing the exercises incorrectly, not properly warming up and stretching. This causes the muscles that run from their neck down between their shoulder blades to get strained very easily. Exhaustion of the muscles causes back pain between shoulder blades too, so don't push beyond your effective limits.

Many of us are spending more and more time in the office, sitting in uncomfortable office chairs (with bad posture), taking phone calls (with the phone propped between the ear and shoulder), lifting, twisting, bending and doing tasks that cause our bodies to tire out. When your body gets tired, usually your back begins to sag and the back pain between shoulder blades sets in.

As mentioned, those of us with poor posture tend to slouch - which can cause pain throughout the back, not just in the upper back area.

Men and women who are overweight and women with above average sized breasts tend to have back pain between shoulder blades thanks to the added strain of the weight placed on their spinal column.

Add in potential medical disorders and diseases such as a pinched nerve, disc herniation, disc degeneration, and others... and the muscles in the upper back don't stand a chance.

These things are only a few things that can be the causes of back (thoracic) pain, but they can cause discomfort ranging from mildly annoying to seriously painful, chronic and debilitating.

It is important to do what you can to address and alleviate these issues. We have enough to worry about under normal circumstance without adding in pains from back issues.

First...as always, before you seek upper back pain relief and start self treatment, see your doctor to get a diagnosis of what is creating your particular issue.

Causes for an upper back problem and back pain between shoulder blades are many and varied and you need to find out what condition is causing your aches before you do anything that could make them worse.

Be sure to follow whatever advice your therapist recommends. I'm constantly amazed at how many of us pay for professional advice - and then ignore it.

There are back pain exercises to help loosen the muscles and strengthen your back, but those who do exercise need to ensure that they don't overexert themselves when cycling, running, training on the elliptical machine, or other activities. Make it a point to get a good stretch both before and after exercise.

Those spending a good amount of time in the office need to ensure that they have comfortable chairs to sit on. A poorly designed chair is more of a common cause of chronic back pain between shoulder blades than most of us realize.

I like seeing a shapely leg as much as the next man, but many women wear heels that are too high, and the overly high heels contribute to their back aches. (As well as damage the feet.) Wearing comfortable shoes in the workplace is vital for back pain relief. Save the heels for a night on the town.

Poor posture can easily lead to a herniated cervical disc. It is easy to slouch, but correcting your posture will go a very long way towards avoiding potentially severe back problems.

If you suspect that you have poor posture, take a look in the mirror to check it out. If your chin is more than 2 inches in front of your chest, then you are probably hanging your too head low and slouching.

Roll your shoulders back and lift your head towards the roof. Straighten your back and lift your chest to correct your posture. You need to make the effort to walk around with good posture, it may be a hassle, but it's easier than surgery, years of physical therapy, medication and trips to your physician.

Those with large breasts should ensure that they wear bras that offer sufficient support. Larger breasted women can visit a bra specialist to obtain information on what kind of bra is the best to provide the necessary support..

Taking these small steps to change can actually help you reduce the amount of back pain between shoulder blades that you experience, and you may find that these few small changes are the difference between acute discomfort and a pain-free life.

Scratched Cornea a signals of corneal abrasion

Posted on 21:00 by Unknown
If we are not carefully enough, we may abrade our corneas. For example, inappropriate wearing of contacts can lead to corneal abrasion. Some of us are greatly terrified by this problem. It is true that this problem can cause great pain and discomfort, but corneas can be cured automatically if rightly treated. Then, how to know we have corneal abrasion? Symptoms like redness, blurriness, pain, etc. are signals of corneal abrasion.

Generally, there is a recovering system in our corneas. That's to say the scratched corneas can heal themselves automatically. It is prohibited to rub eyes if we think our corneas are scratched, for our corneal cells will repair the damaged layers. What should we do if we find our corneas are scratched? We should first get rid of the object that leads to the abrasion. In order to prevent eye swelling and pain, cold compress is essential. We should try to relax ourselves with eyes closed. If the problem gets worse or we can not endure the pain, we must visit the eye doctors.

Usually, an eye doctor will use some special eye drops, especially antibiotic eye drops to kill the pain and avoid any infection. Then, eye patch will be used to avoid the movement of eyelids. With the patch for twenty four hours, namely, the period of healing, our corneas will get recovered.

Of course, if we wear contact lenses, we should be more attentive, for the lenses should not be worn during the healing process. Not only the lenses will slow down the healing process, the medication will also damage the lenses. Generally, if the problem is not very serious, we may suffer from some temporary blurriness only. Of course, even after the healing process, it will take several weeks for us to regain our vision. Anyway, rubbing eyes is prohibited.

Some of us may not be so lucky and may have corneas scratched for many times. This is because the healing layers are not firmly connected. Then how to tackle it? We should ask eye doctor for help. They will use some special devices to treat our corneal layers. Of course, the theory underlying the healing process is the same as the original. And we can ask eye doctor to give some special ointments to avoid further recurrence.

Scratched Cornea Natural healing process

Posted on 20:57 by Unknown
Corneal abrasion is a superficial scratch in the outer lens of the eye. It is usually caused by improper wearing of contact lenses or by particles that get lodged in the eye. A scratched cornea can be painful and alarming. Good thing is that the eyes are one of the quickest healers in the body and scratched corneas are easy to treat. Some of the symptoms of corneal abrasions include pain, redness, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, excessive tears, the feeling that there is an object or particle in the eye, and possible swelling of the eye.

Natural healing process

A scratch in the cornea can heal completely within 24 to 48 hours, depending on the severity, leaving no permanent damage when healed. During this time, the cells will reconnect the undamaged layers and renew the scratched part of the cornea. If you feel like you scratched your cornea, do not rub your eyes! It will only worsen the abrasion. Instead, flush your eyes with water to get rid of the object or particle that scratched your eye. Use a cold compress over your eye to keep it from swelling and lessen the pain. Keep your eyes closed and let it rest. If you cannot wait too long and the pain or discomfort is unbearable, you should contact an eye doctor in urbane scrubs to see if you need treatment.

Seeing an eye doctor

To ease the pain, anesthetic eye drops are typically used during examination and to prevent infection, an eye doctor will usually recommend antibiotic eye drops. After the treatment, the doctor will cover your eye with a tight eye patch to prevent your eyelid from moving. You will have to wear the eye patch for at least 24 hours so that the healing process will not be disturbed and so that it repairs quickly and smoothly.

What to avoid

Those who wear contact lenses should not wear it for the whole period of the treatment and healing period because it will only slow down the healing process. Also, the medication can cloud or stain soft lenses, thereby damaging it. Superficial cornea abrasions do not cause permanent blindness or loss of vision but it may blur your vision temporarily. Once your eye heals, it may take a few weeks before your clear vision returns (if you had clear vision before the abrasion). During this time, it is advised that you refrain from rubbing your eyes. This will slow down the healing process or even aggravate the abrasion.

Recurrence

In some instances, a corneal abrasion can spontaneously recur long after it has healed, usually occurring when you wake up in the morning. This happens when an area of the eye's epithelium failed to reconnect to the deeper layers of the cornea. When this happens, it is best to go to the eye doctor so that a special instrument can be used to form better connections between the layers of the cornea. The treatment will be similar to the one that was administered in the original abrasion. You can also ask your doctor about lubricants or ointments that you can use to prevent recurrent abrasions.

Scratched Cornea Home Remedies

Posted on 20:56 by Unknown
Abrasions are caused by slight scraping, cutting or rubbing of the skin, resulting in it being grazed or broken. Cinnamon was traditionally used as a natural antiseptic and clove oil was used to disinfect the wound. Honey was spread on the wound also as an antiseptic and helped to speed up the healing process. Tea was also used externally to check bleeding and to fight against bacteria.

Other common remedies were crushed marigold flowers that are then applied externally; crushed Parsley leaves; crushed fresh plantain leaves; onion juice that is applied externally; dock leaves, applied either directly or as a lotion; tea made from sage applied externally; bruised geranium leaves; and pounded root or leaves of comfrey made into a poultice. While bathing, witch hazel and lavender made into compresses or poultices were used. Yarrow, meadowsweet as well as elderflowers are also utilized. Later on, iodine was used on abrasions and cuts more frequently.

Causes

A skinned knee, a paper cut, and a carpet burn -- you name it! Abrasions can happen anywhere and at any time. They occur while the skin accidentally rubs against irregular surface, causing a scratch or cut. Carelessness increases the risk, as does an active lifestyle and a love of outdoor or extreme sports.

Symptoms

The main symptom is sometimes painful exposure of tissue and nerve endings caused by the accidental removal of superficial layers of skin. Abrasions don't usually cause excessive bleeding, but sometimes slight bleeding can occur.

Home Remedies for Abrasions - Scratched Cornea

ALOE gel heals almost anything. It's available in most drug stores, but if you have an aloe plant at home, simply break its leaf and apply the oozing gel directly onto the clean wound, then leave the area uncovered so a scab can form.

LAVENDER OIL applied to a clean cut or abrasion works as a painkiller and expedites the healing process.

RAW HONEY, typically available in most health food (and some grocery) stores, eases pain as well. Apply a thin layer of honey to the clean wound, cover with a bandage and leave overnight.

Herbs for Abrasions

Boneset
Black willow
Burdock root
Cayenne pepper
Celery seed
Chamomile
Cleavers
Coltsfoot
Comfrey
Dandelion
Echinacea
Elder
Eucalyptus
False unicorn root

Abrasions are a common injury associated with pressure washing. To reduce the risk of getting abrasions, wear protective clothing including gloves, closed shoes and long pants. Avoid pointing the pressure washer at yourself, other people and pets. Do not depress the trigger until you are sure of where the gun is pointing and use care not to spray your hands, feet or legs.

Slips and falls can lead to hospitalization or death. Wet surfaces will be more slippery and ice can form rapidly in cold climates. Using a pressure washer on a ladder or other elevated surface is dangerous due to the backward force of a pressure washing gun, which can easily throw a person off balance. Understand your work area and how water will affect the surface. Use appropriate safety harnesses when operating a pressure washer from a ladder, lift, or crane.

What Does Heartburn Feel Like, different methods of treatments

Posted on 10:09 by Unknown
Discomforting physical conditions can be deceiving at times and that is why people ought to know what does heartburn feel like. Heartburn issues are experienced by over 100 million Americans. It is called as such because it mimics the painful pain of an upcoming heart attack and combined with a burning sensation all over the chest that climbs up to the throat. Of course if one has never experienced a heart attack before they could never tell if it is indeed a heart attack or not. It is just too hard to make a distinction between the two that is why it is vital to visit your doctor as soon as possible to rule out cardiac problems.

How Does It Feel?

So what does heartburn feel like? It is often described as a radiating pain that covers the whole chest area especially when you lie down after a heavy meal or bend over. This painful burning feeling that occurs behind the chestbone may last for a few minutes to a couple of hours. The pain goes up to the neck and at times on the jawline area. What differentiates it from an impending heart attack is the fact that there is a sour, warm acidic or bitter taste that may go up to the back of the throat or your mouth. Oftentimes, one would have difficulty swallowing or a feeling that there is something that is lodged in your chest or throat area. One would also experience a persistent hoarseness in their voice or cough followed by a sore or burning sensation in the throat. Another feeling that not so often occurs is difficulty breathing almost like the symptoms that happen for asthmatic people.

Heartburn can be a symptom of a more seriousness physical condition called GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease. This is a condition where the LES or lower esophageal sphincter relaxes, which should not be, and allows stomach acids to go back up on the throat. As this continuous on it irritates the esophagus and can cause a lot more damage. Greater discomfort is experienced by chronic GERD sufferers. If left untreated, it can cause more serious problems in the future.

Treatment

There are different methods of treatments to choose from. You must first identify the things that trigger these symptoms. Examples are caffeinated drinks, foods that are high in acidic content, and others. Pregnant women also overweight people experience heartburn more often because of the pressure that is being placed on the stomach area. Asthmatic people included because of the spasms created in the chest area due to an astkmatic attack. Eating small portions of meals spread throughout the day instead of downing huge amounts of food at one time is also helpful. Temporary solutions such as taking over-the-counter drugs namely antacids or home made remedies are great but not advisable for chronic patients. Making the necessary lifestyle changes with discipline and perseverance can help you go around without any much difficulty. You would not have to experience on what does heartburn feel like ever again.

What Does Heartburn Feel Like, a common question

Posted on 10:07 by Unknown
"What is heartburn and what does heartburn feel like?" is a common question among people who are conscious about the burning sensation in their chest after they eat or when they are lying down. Heartburn is a common and normal body phenomena characterized by a burning feeling in the chest just beneath the breastbone.

Mistakenly associated with the heart, heartburn is really connected with the upper digestive tract. It is usually nothing to be heavily concerned about since it can be easily relieved by over-the-counter medicines or natural, home-made ways.

Heartburn happens when the lower esophageal sphincter muscles suddenly opens or relaxes to allow gastric acids to shoot up the esophagus. These acids such as hydrochloric acid move up the food tube and burn the linings thus the burning sensation is felt. Sometimes it reaches all the way up the throat and mouth.

So what does heartburn feel like aside from the burning sensation in the chest? Aside from the burning sensation, pressure or pain in the chest may also be felt. It is usually felt when bending or lying down especially right after eating a large meal. This lasts for several minutes and may extend to a few hours. Heartburn may be accompanied by a burning sensation in the throat or neck. Once the acids move further up, the discomfort goes along with it.

Heartburn may also be characterized by a sour or bitter taste in the mouth or at the back of the mouth. When the regurgitated acid reaches the mouth, it then manifests a sour or bitter taste. Sometimes, when acids stay in the mouth for prolonged periods, it may cause damage in the enamel and may cause tooth decay. A feeling of something stuck in the throat or a lump in the throat may also mean you are experiencing heartburn.

What does heartburn feel like for pregnant women? Heartburn may also be felt by expecting mothers. Pregnant women produce higher levels of progesterone than normal. Progesterone causes the LES muscle to relax thus causing acid reflux. Sometimes, when the pregnancy hits the end of the first trimester, pressure inside the mother's stomach builds up.

The pressure from the growing child may cause the stomach and its contents to be pushed up, thereby allowing gastric acids to be backed up to the esophagus. As to what does heartburn feel like, it is often a sharp, pressured burning feeling in the chest, behind the sternum. Extension of the pain or discomfort may reach the jaws or even the upper arms. Heartburn may also induce nausea and a feeling of being bloated.

What does heartburn feel like as compared to a heart attack? Heartburn is not a heart disease or disorder. It is merely the inappropriate release of the stomach acids into the esophagus. Pain usually starts at the stomach and crawls up to the chest and throat.

On the other hand, heart attack symptoms often include nausea, shortness of breath, pain radiating from the chest going to the left arm, and pain or discomfort in the chest. A combination of these entails that you should go to the hospital to get checked immediately.

Heartburn may easily be relieved by drinking water at the slightest feel. A heart attack, however, cannot be alleviated by simply lying down or drinking water.

Bikini wax at home, an overview

Posted on 12:00 by Unknown
If you are hoping to save money on your monthly wax, then the great news for you to know is that you can easily do it at home! It's important to take the proper care to protect your skin, but with a few simple insider tips, you can have a silky smooth finish... without pesky razor bumps or irritation, of course!

Within this report, we will discuss easy tips that you can use at home for a flawless bikini wax straight from professional aestheticians and waxing specialists. These are industry secrets that will provide a foolproof way to make sure that you remove all hair with the minimal amount of pain, embarrassment, and damage to your skin.

As an overview, waxing is semi-permanent hair removal that pulls the hair out directly from the root. This is something incredibly popular for the bikini area, especially if you are someone who has a sensitive skin. If you are used to shaving your bikini area, then you have probably noticed that there is a large risk of razor burn or bumps caused by the irritation of shaving.

For that specific reason, many women turn to professional waxing to remove the hair from the root and directly avoid the inconvenience and pain of shaving regularly.

Many women shy away from waxing because it is rumored to be painful, but it doesn't have to be! The way to have the best waxing experience is to use professional techniques and the insider secrets that we are about to share within this report. It is also important to choose a quality waxing product that is gentle on your skin as the hair is being removed. There are a number of ingredients that can be added to wax to make it safer for sensitive skin for a better end result in your bikini wax.

Let us begin...

Chapter 1: Waxing Preparation

To begin with, there are a few things that you need to keep your skin protected. Waxing is the opportunity to remove hair from the root, and you can be hair free for 3 to 4 weeks as a result! Still, if you are not careful with the way that you wax, you can irritate or even rip your skin in the process - God forbid! That's why it is important to take advice from the pros and prep your skin beforehand to make sure it is protected and in the best condition.

Before you begin waxing, there are a few things that you will need:
- Baby powder
- Waxing strips
- Wax
- Aloe vera
- A damp towel
- Wooden spatulas
- Tweezers

To go into even more detail, baby powder is helpful to keep the skin dry and non-sticky. If you have natural oils on the surface of your skin, then the wax has the potential to stick to your skin and cause damage instead of removing the hair.

When you are waxing, you do not want to remove skin, you want to remove hair! Big difference.
When it comes to waxing strips, it is important to use prepackaged waxing strips or muslin that you can cut up. If you want it to be as simple as possible, there are waxing strips sold specifically for the bikini area that will be the right material to expertly remove the wax and hair from your skin while keeping the skin intact.

The wax itself is another important supply to consider because it needs to be high quality and suitable to your skin type. When it comes to waxing, there are two basic types, which will be strip wax or hard wax.

Strip Wax:
This type of wax uses the strips that we previously described, and you will apply it to the surface of your skin with a waxing stick to be removed by the waxing strip. This is often ideal for larger areas of the body because the waxing strip can cover more space, like the legs or arms.

Hard Wax:
This is also a hot wax, but it does not require any waxing strips. This is most often preferable for intimate areas and smaller spaces, like a bikini or Brazilian wax. This wax will be applied hard to the surface of the skin with a waxing stick, but it will be allowed to dry by itself. After that, you can pull of a corner of the wax to remove it all the way with the hair included.

Aloe vera gel is also very necessary because it can be used directly after waxing to soothe the surface of the skin. This is better than applying many post-waxing products because it is gentle and natural to provide healing benefits. If your skin is quite red after waxing, then you can also apply ice or a cool compress directly to the surface of the skin to reduce redness and swelling.

A damp towel is also essential because it will help you clean up any excess wax. If you are not careful, waxing can be a messy process, so it is helpful to have a warm, damp towel available to remove any
wax mess.

Before waxing, make sure that the hair in your bikini area has grown out for 3 to 4 weeks from waxing or shaving. The rule of thumb is around an eighth of an inch of hair growth prior to waxing. If your hair in your bikini area is longer, make sure to trim it so that it is an eighth of an inch long.

Here are a few more tips to keep in mind prior to waxing your bikini:
- You can take an aspirin an hour beforehand to reduce sensitivity in your skin.
- Never wax when you are pregnant! Pregnant women have very sensitive skin due to hormones, so it could cause extreme irritation.
- Do not use any type of aggressive exfoliant in your bikini area, like products with glycolic acid or alpha hydroxy acid, a minimum of 24 hours before waxing.
- Do not tan the area 24 hours before waxing.
- Do not drink alcohol prior to waxing.
- Do not stimulate the skin with a hot shower or hot tub prior to waxing.

From there, you will want to prep your skin:
- Begin by exfoliating the bikini area well with a gentle bath product to prevent any ingrown hairs from dead skin buildup.
- Make sure that the bikini area is entirely clean and dried completely.
- Test the hot wax on the inside of your wrist to make sure that it is not too hot or too cool for your bikini area.

Chapter 2: How To Bikini Wax

Now it's time to get started waxing your bikini at home!
Begin by getting in a comfortable position in your bathroom to fully access your bikini area. It may be easier to do it in a place that you can lie down fully to open up your legs to wax your bikini.

Before beginning your waxing process, make sure to set up your waxing station so that all of your tools are at hand. Place a paper towel next to your waxing pot, and line up your wooden spatulas, tweezers, waxing strips, baby powder, and all other waxing supplies. As another rule of thumb, it is important to wear gloves when your waxing to keep your work area and your bikini area clean and sanitary!

From there, make sure to change into disposable underwear or old underwear. Many home waxing products will come with disposable underwear, which are made of paper and can be thrown away after waxing, especially if wax gets on them.

Begin sanitizing your hands well and also wear gloves. Lie face up in your wax area, and feel free to use pillows to make sure that you are comfortable and can access your bikini area.

The best way to begin the waxing process is on your right side, so open up your right leg, and bend it at the knee. Make a triangle shape with your leg by placing your right foot against your left knee in a comfortable position. This will allow you to open up the skin on the right side of your bikini area so that it is taut and easier to wax.

After that, dust your clean skin with baby powder to remove any oils from the surface of the skin.
At this point, you should have tested the temperature of the wax. The best way to tell that the wax is at the proper temperature is if it has a consistency like honey, where it is not too thin and not too thick.
From there, use the wax spatula to apply wax in the direction of the hair growth, and start out by applying wax in smaller areas. If you are using a hard wax, then it is best to apply the wax in a figure 8 motion in the direction of the hair growth.

The reason for this is that you can create a little bit of excess wax that can harden to work as a lip to pull when you remove the wax.

If you are applying regular strip wax, then apply it in the direction of the hair growth, and immediately apply a waxing strip over the top. Smooth the waxing strip over the wax in the direction of the hair growth so that the wax can firm to be removed.

It is so important to always, always remove the waxing strip or hard wax against the direction of the hair growth so that all of the hair can be firmly removed by the roots from the skin.

When you are removing your strip wax, do not remove it in an upward motion, but make sure that you are pulling against the direction of the hair growth. It is also important to hold the skin taut, which is why you may need a friend or assistant for this bikini home waxing procedure.

If you do not hold the skin taut, you risk bruising or ripping the sensitive skin in your bikini area. Use one hand to pull the skin in the area around the wax so that it is completely taut, and use the other hand to swiftly rip off the hard wax or waxing strip in one motion!

It is important to reiterate that the wax removal should be in one motion because if you hesitate or try to do it slowly, it could cause the skin to bruise or the wax to become stuck on the skin.
After removing the wax, APPLY PRESSURE TO RELIEVE PAIN!

Make sure to always throw away the waxing spatula after every single application because double dipping is completely unsanitary! This will also allow you to use a clean waxing spatula for every application to ensure that you can apply wax to your bikini area easily and smoothly.

Continue with this waxing method to remove enough hair to your liking. There are a number of different shapes that you can do for your bikini area, and if you would like it to look even, then your best bet is to use a red pen to mark the area that can be easily washed off when you shower.

For a basic bikini wax, you will want to remove all of the hair just outside of your underwear line. If you would like more, you can shape the hair into a wedge, which is a large triangle starting just above the lips of the labia. Many other women prefer a landing strip design, which will look like a thin rectangle above the lips of the labia. Again, the way that you choose to groom your pubic hair is completely up to you, but the easiest method to get the shape that you are looking for is to draw it beforehand with a washable pen.

Here are some helpful terms to know:
- Bikini Wax: This wax will only remove the hair outside of the regular bikini line.
- Full Bikini Wax: This wax will go slightly deeper into the pubic hair, and it will also take some hair off of the top. It will look more like a triangle or wedge.
- French Bikini Wax: This will remove all of the hair in the bikini area, except for a strip. It will also include the inner thigh area next to the labia.
- Brazilian Wax: This will literally remove all of the hair, including from the backside area. This will leave you completely hairless or with just a small strip above the labia.

Last of all, use the tweezers to get any hair that you may have missed. It is highly dangerous to rewax any areas, so only use one wax strip per area, and then tweeze the excess hairs to remove.

Here are some last waxing tips to keep in mind for the best results:

- Make sure that the hair is not too short, otherwise, you will not be able to remove it all.
- If you wax consistently, your skin will become less sensitive. Continuous waxing will also damage the follicle of the hair over and over so that the hair is finer and less coarse as it grows back.
- The wax will last for 3 to 4 weeks, and after that, you can let the hair grow back to an eighth of an inch for your next bikini wax.
- Do not under any circumstance rewax an area that has already been waxed! Waxing does remove a thin layer of your skin, so the more that you wax in the same area, the more likely you are to seriously damage your skin.
- Do not wax any areas that have cuts, scrapes, open wounds, acne, or moles!
- Wax 3 to 5 days before a special event, like a vacation or wedding, to make sure that your skin does not have a reaction before the big day.
- Do not wax under any circumstance if you take Accutane. You must be off this medication one year prior to waxing.
- Do not wax if you have an immune disease like AIDS or lupus.
- Do not wax any area that is sunburned!

After that, it is important to properly care for your skin to get the best results...

Chapter 3: Post Wax Care

Congratulations! Now you have finished your first bikini wax, and you need to take care of your skin to make sure that it stays as smooth and as silky as possible.

waxing, gently remove the baby powder and excess wax with baby oil. It is also important to treat the skin right away with aloe vera gel to prevent redness or inflammation.

Make sure to protect your freshly waxed bikini area by not exposing it to the sun for at least 24 hours! Waxing does remove a layer of skin, so the freshly waxed area is new and sensitive.

For the best results, begin exfoliating the area after 24 hours with an effective exfoliant product. The product should contain glycolic acid to remove any dead skin that could build up in the bikini area to cause ingrown hairs. There is nothing more painful than ingrown hairs, but if you exfoliate regularly, your skin will remain silky smooth!

It's also best to avoid wearing tight clothing directly after waxing because you do need to be gentle to the bikini area until the skin has returned to normal.

The bottom line is that with at-home bikini waxing, practice makes perfect! Here is what to do if things don't go according to plan:

- If your skin is sensitive: Apply a soothing product, like aloe vera. It is also helpful to place brewed, cooled tea bags on the area to reduce swelling.
- If your skin breaks out: This is something that can happen to new waxers, so treat the breakout by cleansing well and exfoliating. Stay away from tight clothing and exercising until your breakout clears up.
- If you get ingrown hairs: This can be completely prevented by exfoliating well! If you do get ingrown hairs, wear looser clothing to prevent irritation, and exfoliate and moisturize the area well to treat.
- If you get bumps: Apply a warm compress to the skin prior to waxing to open up the hair follicles. It is also important to stick with waxing even if you get bumps so your skin can adjust and become less sensitive.
- If you bruise: This is often caused by the skin not being held taut. If you bruise your bikini area, ask for assistance from a trusted friend, or take care to hold your skin as taut as possible when you pull off the wax strip.

The best way to get the most from your at-home bikini wax is to take care of your skin after the fact! Again, make sure to avoid the sun, sauna, and heavy sweating and exercise for up to 24 hours to reduce irritation.

If you have a skin reaction, you can apply hydrocortisone to reduce any swelling or aloe vera gel to soothe the skin.

Focus on gently exfoliating 24 hours after waxing to preemptively strike against ingrown hairs! There are a number of exfoliating bath products and lotions available that will do the job, and they will also keep your skin protected and smooth. As much as you exfoliate, it is important to moisturize to make sure that the skin remains in balance, silky, and soft!

The bottom line is that you should be proud of yourself for executing a successful at-home bikini wax!
The more practice you get, the better that you will be, and you will be able to avoid any type of waxing mishaps or issues.

Waxing at home is the most affordable and economical way to remove hair and care for your skin. This is something that can be done conveniently and safely with these tricks of the trade, and you won't have to worry about cuts or razor burn from shaving ever again!

Alcohol Poisoning Symptoms, The Four Major Chronic

Posted on 03:48 by Unknown
Confused by my title? Let me explain; when I was about 12 I had my first drink...and then my second and then my third.....you get the picture. By the end of the night I had drunk so much that i was vomiting, edging into unconsciousness, my skin had turned pale, and breathing became difficult . Within the hour, I had to be taken to hospital and have my stomach pumped. According to the doctors I could have died.

Then five things happened that were to irretrievably mark my life:
* I got better (at least physically)
* I was discharged from hospital
* I didn't learn from the experience
* I continued to drink recklessly
* I, eventually, became a full-blown alcoholic who, by his 30s, wanted to curl up and die.

The first experience I had at the age of 12, was a classic case of youthful 'experimentation' which resulted in ACUTE alcohol poisoning symptoms.
The second experience up until I reached my thirties, is a classic case of alcoholism which eventually resulted in CHRONIC alcohol poisoning symptoms.

Alcohol is a toxin, a poison, if used responsibly it will do us no harm. It may even be beneficial. However, abuse it and it will come to haunt your every waking minute. And I say waking because when you are in end stage alcoholism there will be no sleep. Every waking hour will be spent desperately trying to stave off alcohol withdrawal symptoms by drinking.

Before getting to this so- called end stage, it would be better to spot initial chronic alcohol poisoning symptoms and seek help. Otherwise drink will take such a hold that your physical and mental health will begin to seriously decline.

The Four Major Chronic Alcohol Poisoning Symptoms

1. TOLERANCE: As the addict drinks more and more, so they need more and more to achieve the same effect as before.
2. CRAVING: The drink dependent doesn't just want to drink, they NEED to drink. They have an all-consuming thirst for alcohol.
3. LOSS OF CONTROL: The alcoholic is unable to have a drink and stop, once alcohol is in the system then he or she will go on a bender. It's as if there is an autopilot system in the brain. that is activated by alcohol
4. PHYSICAL DEPENDENCE: When there is no alcohol to be had, the alcoholic will begin to suffer various symptoms that demonstrate that they are suffering from alcohol withdrawal.

So there you have it, the four characteristics of chronic alcohol poisoning symptoms.

If you, or a loved one, are displaying any of these then you or they should consider seeing a medical professional.

NEVER STOP DRINKING ALCOHOL SUDDENLY WITHOUT FIRST CONSULTING A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

Laser Hair Removal Side Effects, How to avoid

Posted on 21:33 by Unknown
Laser hair removal is very effective and popular way to get rid of unwanted hair. During the procedure the laser light is targeted at an individual hair follicle, each one at a time, and by heating it the beam destroys the follicle's ability to produce hair. Or, to be more precise, it minimizes it to such extent that the patient won't experience of unwanted hair growth for quite a long period of time.

So while the removing hair with the means of laser is commonly considered to be a safe process, yet there are some laser hair removal dangers or risks that may occur in the process.

We need to mention to avoid premature scaring of the readers, that actually laser hair removing is safe; usually the problems take place if:

- The personnel who do the work are not properly trained or inexperienced;

- The wrong laser type used;

- The patient is not inclined to be responsible for pre treatment activities and do things that may negatively affect their health and the result of the treatment.

So let's see, what this entire means. If we take the stuff into the account, the solution is simply to choose the clinic that is either branded (needs more money), or experienced (usually equals branded, not always though), or properly trained, or at least honest in treating patients (the cheapest one among good clinics). Try to find the customer's reviews of different clinics online and you will be done! It is really helpful to find someone's experience to avoid committing own mistakes.

Wrong laser type... wow, it can happen. Actually it simply means that there are different types of laser hair removal machines that are effective only for a particular skin type. Actually since there are basically two skin types - dark and light - the devices are also graded into two basic groups: those that are effective for light skin (usually have short laser beam wavelength), and those that are good for the people with dark skin (those with long wavelength).

Laser hair removal equipment in the first category is: ERBIUM, CO, KTP, Pulse DYE, and Alexandrite. For the dark skin (2nd category) the best is Nd: YAG, and sometimes Diode.

Why is that? Short wave is effective, but the problem it has with the dark skin is that the laser beam sometimes mistakes the melanin (coloring pigment) from the skin with the melanin in the hair, so the treatment may be ineffective or even harmful. That is why long waved lasers that are able to penetrate skin deeply to affect the hair follicle in the dark skin; and only they should be used for dark skin. It is called using the right laser hair removal machine type.

So what about patient? Actually, the first step is to consult with the doctor on what treatment will be the best for your skin type. Then, try to avoid excessive sun exposure for at least 3-4 weeks before the treatment (tanned skin acts just like dark skin). Also tanning adds to skin's sensitivity, which may reduce the effect of the treatment.

Ok, those were the causes of possible laser hair removal dangers, but what the dangers or risks can be?

- There can be laser marks and burnings on the skin;

- Since the anesthesia often required, the improper use of it may be a side effect;

- Some medicines can lessen the effect from the treatment, or cause side effects (consult with your doctor);

- Skin discoloration: can be of two types - hypo (whiting) and hyper (darkening) pigmentation.

The last side effects is the worst usually; although it is not permanent, yet if occur on a visible area can bring embarrassment to the person.

So to avoid laser hair removal side effects and dangers you need to be responsible for what you do and where you get treated.

Itchy vagina, There are many reasons

Posted on 05:40 by Unknown
There is nothing more embarrassing than having an itch on the vagina when out socializing. It`s funny if you think about it, if an itch is on the end of your nose, your head or ear you scratch it regardless of who stands before you, but when it`s round the crotch/anus then the way we get relief is not so openly done. Could this have something to do with why the genitals are called the privates, hence the secrecy between fingers meeting up with the itchy vagina? Okay it doesn't look nice to scrawb at your bits when in the company of people, but an itch is an itch and made for scratching. And another thing is, what must people think for why you scratch i.e. pubic lice (crabs) or maybe VD might even cross their mind. Now you can always retreat around the corner out of sight to scratch, or find the root cause for your itchy vagina and cure it. There are many reasons accountable for a vaginal itch or anus one. If you itch because you have a vaginal rash then this is easily treated and rid using home treatments, however and more often than not an itchy vagina comes about from vaginal infections.

One infection strongly connected for causing an itch is vaginal thrush. As with specific infections they can also affect the vaginal opening and surrounding skin along with pain. Bear in mind that not all women get the symptoms associated with infection but if they do, the way they cope and respond to vaginal treatments can differ greatly. There are 3 common infections we address on a regular basis and the reason why is, because it is normally one of them that is responsible for a vaginal itch.

If you experience vulval discomfort then we look towards the thrush infection, bacterial vaginosis, trichomonas vaginalis and herpes simplex.

Thrush
Thrush as we are aware is caused by a fungal organism called Candida albicans which lives in our bodies. Candida albicans grow and mass around the genitals which bring on thrush symptoms. Clarified symptoms are a white, thick, yeasty smelling vaginal discharge, and a very itchy sore and red vulval region. Sometimes the rectum (anal) opening can also become painfully itchy. Most Vaginal infections excluding some STDs are treated with antifungal drugs, vaginal creams, and vaginal pessaries. Creams and pessaries which need inserting inside the vagina can however cause burning and skin irritation similar to the thrush infection. Because of this confusion comes to the fore over whether it `s the side effects of the treatment or the symptoms of the infection. Although vaginal treatments are deemed safe particular feminine products have to be ideal for you and the infection you suffer from. If vulval skin is itchy and sore then cream can help with easing discomfort. Some medications come in oral form. Personal preference will prevail for whatever treatment you use, however if it is not a 100% for clearing your infection then it is waste of time and money leaving you still infected. Temporary cures are not want you want you want rid and gone forever. If you`re pregnant or breastfeeding consult with GP before using vaginal treatments.

Treatment for thrush can be obtained from the pharmacy but talk to the pharmacist before purchase because; it is possible to mis-use treatments for vaginal itching/soreness that are not thrush. Wrong treatments may lead to long-standing vulval problems and can worsen the condition you set out to heal.

Don`t let anyone tell you any different that after being diagnosed with thrush that you have been sexually active. Thrush is not a sexually transmitted infection. Thrush does not always cause symptoms in men and may present as balanitis or a non-specific urethritis (NSU.)

Bacterial Vaginosis
Bacterial Vaginosis also like thrush bringing soreness, burning and itching of the vulva but hardly ever sees redness or swelling. We associate the unpleasant fishy smell with bacterial Vaginosis and a smelly grey or white vaginal discharge. Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) happens when the good bacteria in the vagina are removed to make way for bad bacteria. So it is bad bacteria we look to treat and destroy to ease soreness, relieve itching and rid the fishy smell. Because of similar symptoms it is easy to think you have thrush when you have BV. Bacterial Vaginosis is the more severe out of the two infections because it can lead to internal infection called pelvic inflammatory disease.

Trichomonas Vaginalis
Have you been diagnosed with having Trichomonas Vaginalis but at the time of diagnosis did not hear clearly or understand what the GP had to say. This happens regular where a woman might have been frightened by the medical term used for her condition and goes home none the wiser. Well Trichomoniasis or Trich as it is called at times is a vaginal infection which causes vulva soreness, reddening and inflammation. A common symptom of Trich is a foamy, yellow greenish vaginal discharge. Some women feel pain when weeing. The organism responsible for the symptoms is a parasite in the vaginal mucus. It spreads through penetrative vaginal sex and the exchange of vaginal fluid, meaning, sharing sex toys or sex gadgets.

Herpes Simplex is a viral infection
This virus exists in two types. Herpes simplex type 1 appears as cold sores around the mouth, and herpes simplex type 2 involves the genitals. When the infection first takes hold, painful sores show on the vulva and vagina. It may hurt to urinate as urine is acidic and stings if it comes in contact with herpes sores. Other symptoms include a tingly and itchy vagina, swollen glands in the groin and general flu-like symptoms. Swollen glands or flu-like symptoms only happen during the first attack.

As with particular viral infections, there is no permanent way of ridding herpes and its recurrence.

Now we have covered vaginal infections let us focus on the vaginal rash and how to treat it. This shouldn`t take long as it is just simply water that will do the trick. There are solutions for soothing but just keeping the vagina fresh airy and dry will speed up the recovery process making this the best solution.

Dry itchy vagina, How to stop?

Posted on 05:36 by Unknown
Having a dry itchy vagina is very uncomfortable and irritating. It is estimated that at one stage or the other a woman will have some issue with her vagina and an itchy vagina is one of them.

Before I get into the things that you can do to stop a vaginal itch, it is important to know what are some of the things that lead to vaginal discomfort.

Vaginal discomfort can be brought about by irritants like perfumes from soaps used in bathing or detergents used to wash the panties. Irritants can also come from commercial douches. Some douches have alcohol that dries the vaginal area. Some have chemicals that alter the PH of the vagina leading to discomfort. They also have perfumes that may irritate the vagina.

The vagina is self cleaning and should be cleaned mainly with water or a homemade douche as I will suggest some below. Never wash the vagina with harsh soaps or commercial douches, unless they are douches from natural sources.

Discomfort can also come from infections. The common types of vaginal infections include genital warts that can cause swellings and itching.

There is also vaginal yeast infections mainly caused by Candida albicans. The symptom for yeast infection is a very bad itch coupled with a white curdish discharge.

Another common infection is bacterial vaginosis, bv. BV is very common in women and is characterized by a burning sensation around the vaginal area that is accompanied by a yellowish greenish discharge and an "off" "fishy" smell. It is very terrible and can take a very long time to clear.

It is important to note that most women sometimes get a wrong diagnosis ( by themselves) on what is affecting them. For example most women will use vaginal yeast creams to treat bacterial vaginosis. It is important to get to see a doctor and be examined.

Another thing that can cause vaginal discomfort is stress. When a woman is stressed a lot of the body mechanisms are thrown off balance. The vaginal area can have the PH altered and lead to itching.

Most women report that a dry vaginal itching do occur when they are under stress. So if you having an itch you may need to have a look through your life and see if there is any stress and it something that you may need to tackle so that you can get back to health. This may sound not so medical but it is does work.

Finally an itch can be brought about by eating a lot of sugary foods. Yes, too much sugar will alter the body PH making it alkaline and thus altering the vagina PH. It is not only sugar from candy or soda. Sugar can also come from proceeded carbohydrates like white bread that get broken down to simple sugars in the body. So watch out for those one.

How to stop dry itchy vagina

Use clean cotton (only) pants that are well fitting and make sure you wash them in a mild hypoallergenic soap that has no perfumes or other harsh irritants.

Shave the vaginal area. Most women with a dry itchy vagina do shave and get relief.

Do not clean the area with any soap at all. Eliminate any irritants. If you must clean then use ¼ cup of vinegar diluted in tepid water. Splash around the area three times a day and pat dry with a clean towel. Do not rub the towel.

Do not use any commercial douches or vaginal itching creams. Use the above vinegar mix for douching. Also use a yogurt douche. Buy organic yogurt and apply all around the vagina and inside.

Take probiotics. Probiotics are capsules with millions of live active healthy bacteria cultures. The probiotics will help introduce good bacteria in your gut and this will kill any other microbes that may want to grow around the vaginal area. You can also insert a probiotic capsule directly into the vagina to get the bacteria right on the itching spot.

You can also use honey (pure natural honey) it is antibacterial and very soothing.

Use garlic. Garlic is an all in all antibacterial home remedy with no major side effects apart from the smell. So eat a lot of garlic and if the itching is severe, insert a peeled garlic into the vagina and leave it overnight.

Stop eating any sugars and simple carbs for a while when you are itching. Sugar will alter the vaginal PH like I said above and will lead to discomfort that will manifest as vaginal itch.

It is important that you go see a doctor if the itching that does not stop. To take care of yourself those are some of the easy, quick and natural home remedies for a dry itchy vagina.

Causes of Pimples On Scalp and treatment

Posted on 05:30 by Unknown
Pimples on scalp also known as "scalp acne" result more frequently than you know. Scalp acne appears mainly on your upper forehead at the hairline and can be a headache as it can cause you itching and pain. You can have just a few small, crusty, and sore pustules or countless, however you must be careful because once you have them it's difficult to leave them alone.

Causes of Pimples On Scalp

This annoying scalp condition commonly arises when your scalp becomes oilier than normal. For instance, when you don't wash your hair habitually or when you utilize hair care products that incorporate a substantial quantity of oil. It's also more probable to occur during periods of high stress for both men and women of all ages.

You may also develop pimples on scalp due to excessive head sweating, which produces a humid environment for bacteria to thrive. There are other causes of this form of acne such as nutritional deficiencies, heredity, hormonal imbalance, drug toxicity, seasonal changes, beverages containing caffeine, intake of certain spices, and excessive exposure to heat or sunlight.

This kind of acne generally manifests itself as little white and yellow pustules. When pimples on scalp are caused by yeast they could spread to the whole crown of your head and demand special relief. You may also get scars that appear like those resulting from chicken pox.

Treatment

Keeping good scalp hygiene is the first and safest patch up you can take to treat this condition. Get an anti dandruff shampoo, or one manufactured for oily hair and use it along with an adequate conditioner. There are shampoos containing tea tree oil, lavender oil, or zinc which help decrease oil production of the scalp as well as cleanse your skin and hair without over drying them.

You may also keep in mind hair products recommended to treat seborrhea or use astringents moderately to prevent over drying your scalp, otherwise your pimples on scalp will go on. Another good patch up is to drink a lot of water. Water keeps your skin healthy and it helps to cause less oil.

If your scalp acne is mild, you can also treat it with medicaments used for acne on the face and body. Some satisfactory over-the-counter products are those containing salicylic acid. Apply these products exclusively on affected areas using a Q-tip as they can create too much dryness.

Keep away from any product that contains benzoyl peroxide, specifically if you have chemically textured or color-treated hair. The peroxide, when it comes into contact with your hair, can change its color and give you an awful look. Treating pimples on scalp can be problematic if you have other scalp headaches such as dandruff and a very oily scalp.

If your acne doesn't clear with any of these pointers, or if you have a more extreme form of scalp acne or your condition becomes too painful and uncomfortable, you should call in a doctor or a dermatologist.

Pimples on scalp, Possible causes and Treatment

Posted on 05:28 by Unknown
Pimples on scalp, in some severe cases, might involve with hair loss. When it comes to scalp problems like scalp pimples or scalp psoriasis, hair loss would be the leading concern to a lot of people. Once people find some unusual scalp irritation, they would become worried if they would become bald one day. These worries makes sense as we know that scalp acne, in most cases, are connected with inflammation with the hair follicles. It might be the major difference between pimples on head and other places such pimples on back. However, pimples scalp is nothing else but skin. From this point of view, it is exactly the same thing as pimples on other places and the treatment and the method of pimple popping should be almost the same.

Possible causes of pimples on scalp

What causes pimples on scalp remains unclear so far. The popular explanations are as follows:

1. We believe that most of cases of scalp pimples are caused by the imbalance of sebum secretion. If yours are oily skin, probably you are prone to itchy scalp once the pores are blocked by excessive sebum secretion or other reasons. If yours are dry skin, normally it won't cause scalp acne. However, if it is severe enough, you have to give it a try to normal dry scalp remedies or home remedy for dry scalp;
2. Another possibility is the infection caused by scratching by hands;
3. cleaning too often can also resulting in fungal infection;
4. The improper selection of shampoo can damage the scalp so that scalp acne occur.
5. It might also be caused by folliculitis. However, folliculitis is usually relatively larger, which can be ruled out very easily;
6. Micro-organisms such as yeast and mites and so on can also cause itchy skin too.

Treatment for Scalp Pimples

Exfoliate your scalp. Dead skin cells on the scalp also clog the hair follicles or pores. While shampooing can remove much of this dead layer of skin, cleaning the scalp directly can also help. There are commercial scalp scrubbers that gently exfoliate the scalp. You can also use homemade scalp cleaners. Use aspirin which is made of salicylic acid. Let several aspirins dissolve in a bowl of warm water. Then use an old toothbrush to greatly scrub each section of the scalp. This will remove all dead skin cells and unclog the pores.

Shampoo hair and scalp frequently. Scalp acne is the result of too much oil on the skin. Hormones can over stimulate the oil glands on the skin which overproduces sebum, natural oil. Some people have oily hair as a result of too much oil. If you suffer from scalp acne you have to increase the number of times you wash your hair each week. Choose a shampoo for your hair type. Be certain to rinse the hair thoroughly to remove all traces of the shampoo.

Condition only your hair. After each shampoo you need to condition the hair to make it manageable and to replenish the oils that have been washed away. But those with scalp acne do not need any more lubricants on the hair. When conditioning the hair do not rub the product into the scalp. Try to add the conditioner about one inch away from the scalp. Rinse thoroughly so no residue remains.

Use a homemade rinse after each shampoo. After you clean and condition your hair, a good astringent for the scalp is a rinse made of apple cider vinegar. Add a few ounces of the vinegar to water and pour through the hair. This ascetic acid restores the ph balance of the hair and also helps to cut down on pimples.
Apply acne medication to pimples. When you find a pimple on your scalp, use over-the-counter acne treatments like benzyl peroxide. This will help to dry out and treat the pimple.

Get rid of flaky scalp

Posted on 00:08 by Unknown
Have you ever wondered why you can’t get rid of your flaky scalp although having tried every single product that is on the market? Or have you discovered that although your scalp gets better after one or two treatments but then starts to get worse than it was before? Well, to encourage you, many people seem to be finding themselves in a very similar situation.

First of all, let’s take a look at the flaky scalp itself. When the scalp skin’s outer layer is damaged it loses its natural moisture and pliability, which then leads to flakiness. A flaky scalp is mostly associated with dandruff, which is nothing more than flakes of dead skin being shed from the scalp. This is a very natural process and happens to all of us on a regular basis, usually within a cycle of 28 days. In the case of dandruff, this cycle is shortened to a maximum amount of seven days in which the overly excessive shedding takes place and produces an above average amount of flakes.

A flaky scalp related to dandruff produces two different types of flakes and therefore indicates two different types of dandruff. If the flakes are of white color it is likely that the person suffers from dry dandruff, if the flakes are yellow it is an indicator of the more oily form of dandruff.

Both, dry and oily flakes can be treated with natural products but require a different treatment. While dry flaky scalp responds well to treatments with essential oils such as coconut, rosemary or olive oil combined with ginger roots, you could do badly wrong when using the same natural remedies with oily flaky scalp. Aloe Vera gel tends to be good for any sort of skin condition, including the flaky scalp.

If you want to get rid of your dandruff related flaky scalp for good then there is one reasonable thing to do: get reading to find out what it is you need and start using it and benefit from it almost straight away. Ultimately, this is the best and safest way to treat your flaky scalp with successful results.

Maple Syrup Diet Gained Popularity

Posted on 08:59 by Unknown
Maple Syrup Diet is also called the Master Cleanse Diet or Lemonade diet gained popularity when Beyonce Knowles a famous US pop star was reported to have used it to lose 20 pounds in just 10 days.

Though Beyonce was reported not to recommend it as a weight loss strategy, its raise as a celebrity weight loss diet was imminent.

Maple syrup diet was first developed as The Master Cleanse detoxing liquid diet supposedly by Stanley Burroughs. The then detox diet was captured in a book by the same name in 1976. Though there claims to similar protocols as early as 1930's.

The protocol was actually developed as a detox, fasting and cleansing eating regime that is to detoxify, eliminate diseases and supposedly provoke your body to healthier eating habits.

The premise of the diet is that over the course of the ten days, the body will begin to heal itself and eradicate diseases because it no longer needs to concentrate its energies towards digestion.

Over the years, the protocol has evolved to lean more towards losing weight. The logic behind Master Cleanse for weight loss is that as the protocol helps you detoxify your body, and so your body starts to lose weight easily. Science has pointed to some evidence that your body store some toxins that it cannot deal with immediately in the fat tissue.

These toxins make it hard for one to lose body fat because the body does not want to poison itself. If you lose the fat, the toxins will be released into your blood stream. So the body tends to hang on to such fat, making it extremely hard to lose weight.

Equally obvious is that this diet is extreme in caloric restriction. Infact, it aims to eliminate or keep to minimum calories for between 10 to 40 days.

There are variations by different people on exactly how to do the Maple Syrup (Master Cleanse) Diet. Strictly speaking though, you do it for 14 days. The first 10 days involve taking only the cleansing juice; no solid foods allowed. The next 4 days involve easing out of the diet slowly as you re-introducing solid foods.

There are technically two parts to this fasting diet. The juice concoction that you drink 8 to 12 glasses a day; and a "flush".

To make a days master cleanse juice, take a clean one-gallon jug and pour in three quarts of water (not distilled), one cup lemon juice (actual squeezed lemon is the best) , one cup pure maple syrup (not maple flavored, but the real stuff) or molasses and one teaspoon cayenne (or as much as you can handle).

Add all the ingredients in and shake. Shake again before each drink to avoid any segments settling at the bottom. Drink at least 8 glasses of this juice daily. Better still, drink 12.

The second part is the flush. You also need to do this daily.

This salt water flush is evidently a powerful tool in removing waste from the colon. You must use sea salt for the flush. Start with 2 teaspoons with 1 liter of room temperature water and drink the solution. If you do not respond to this amount then you will need to use more salt.

Expect 3 to 8 bowel movements in the following hours which will expel the liter of salt solution - this will be a strong watery diarrhea. This is the flush. It will not be pleasant and you better be next to a toilet.

Because of that, usually duodenal cancers are detected at a higher stage because symptoms of these cancers do not normally build up awaiting the tumors have invaded regional lymph nodes, adjacent structures, or both. Nevertheless, rarely, early on duodenal cancers are while we're on the subject exposed throughout barium or on endoscopy studies in patients lacking symptoms honestly attributable to these lesions.

Usually the doctor presently encountered a premature cancer of the duodenal bulb that was to begin with detected on dual difference greater gastrointestinal radiograph and afterward verified to be a well make different for adenocarcinoma. With our understanding, radiological detected early duodenal cancer has not been formerly reported in the radiology journalism.

Therefore, we present the radiographic, clinical, and pathologic conclusion of near the beginning duodenal cancer and then this result can discussed for their importance. Factors affecting patient endurance consist of the duration of symptoms, position of tumor in the duodenum, histologic grade of the tumor (the nuclear grade and the amount of separation), depth of invasion, and distant metastases or absence or presence of nodal.

How to Stop Bloating and how to stop getting and bloated belly

Posted on 07:42 by Unknown
It is normal to feel full after a meal although I know a doctor who says that the best thing to do is to leave the table, not feeling completely full. A great way to avoid putting on weight but there still remains the problem of how to stop bloating. Why do we get this uncomfortable feeling of a bloated stomach which is sometime accompanied by gas

PMS bloating is caused by the female hormones running amok in their bodies. Believe it or not, all human beings are internally driven by many different hormones. If any one of them is produced in excess, it can cause some problems. When a woman ovulates or begins her menstrual cycle, her hormone production is triggered and she literally goes into hormone overdrive.

Did you know that often people suffering from being bloated a lot have a existing condition in their body that is perpetually going to worse the bloating until their symptoms become serious, even deadly! Today I'll discuss the 2 most common reasons for being bloated a lot and how to stop getting and bloated belly

Do you experience constant gas & bloating? If so then today I will explain how to stop these really annoying and troublesome chronic conditions from occurring. Best of all I'll explain the real reason you keep experiencing them and what you must do to never have them occur again!

When the body thinks that water isn't plentiful, it begins to store it so you have access to it when in need. Unless you're marooned on a desert island, there is no reason your body should be in this mode, and it usually happens because people drink too much coffee, caffeinated soda, or other things that leech water out of our system faster than the body can replace it through normal drinking.

This might be a surprise but most drugs, especially those of an anti-biotic nature will destroy your natural intestinal flora or bacterial balance. Once this balance is thrown off not only will you begin to experience lots of gas due to fermentation within the digestive tract due to a lack of beneficial bacteria but you'll also find you pick up colds much more easily.

One reason why you feel tired after eating is malnutrition. Eating too much carbohydrates, less protein and a lot of sugary foods will make you feel lethargic for hours. You won't have the energy to be alert and awake throughout the day. For you to stop tiredness after eating, make sure your meals have a good balance of carbohydrates, protein and good fats.

The overall challenge with addressing the issue of how to stop a breakup is that it must be a situation to where both people still open to the idea of making it work. Sometimes people are just in a really bad place in their lives and just feel too overwhelmed having anybody else around.

It is an unspoken fact that you are less likely to get a well paid job than a thinner individual, or indeed get an intimate partner. Where mental health issues have now come to the fore in recent times, surveys have shown that people that are overweight are more prone to depression, anti-social behaviour and even worse self harm.

Do you feel as though you're always getting sick? If so then odds are you are either directly or in-directly being affected by a yeast known as candida. This yeast exists in over 90% of the population, however only a fraction of that is affected negatively by it. Find out how candida could be the reason you keep getting sick and what you can do to eliminate it as a health problem.

How To Get Rid Of Gas and Bloating, Natural Ways To Reduce

Posted on 07:38 by Unknown
Gas and bloating can be very uncomfortable and embarrassing. Gas and bloating are not limited to a certain gender or age and it can pretty much hit anyone. However, babies and people 55 or older are seeing more problems related to bloating.

Sometimes gas and bloating are caused by the different foods one eats, but in other cases it can become a permanent symptom and to prevent any further health impact remedies should be taken to get rid of gas and bloating. Instead of taking pills there are also easy "do it yourself" measures one can take to get rid of gas and bloating. Some remedies are naturally based, while others are chemical based.

Some require time, while others work fairly quick. The steps listed in this article are more about a small change in lifestyle or choice of food one eats and not about taking more pills. Let's take a closer look.

Food Processing and Food Choices

When eating several parts of our body are involved. One of the biggest problems we have seen is people swallowing food before it is properly chewed. Chew food carefully. Carbohydrate digestion begins in the mouth. Any work your teeth don't do, your stomach will have to do later. Gas is produced by colon bacteria in the presence of poorly absorbed carbohydrates (aka food not properly chewed). So, better chewing before swallowing food can definitely help to reduce to production of gas inside your body. Another option is too look at the diet and different foods one is eating and replace them with food/meal options that are easier to chew and easier to digest.

High-fat meals are responsible for a lot of gas, too. If high-fat meals are on your diet frequently, try to spread them out into smaller meals through-out the day. Try to reduce the number of items that contain a lot of fat. Mixing more veggies into a meal plan is an easy and delicious way to do this. Also, reducing the amount of fried food from Fast Food Joints will help to reach that goal. Foods containing a lot of fat are also responsible for other health problems - including high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Certain foods are well-known for producing gas. Gas-producing foods include (but are not limited to) beans, cabbage, onions, cauliflower, and broccoli. Other foods that produce gas are certain type of breads, apples, peaches, pears, prunes, corn, oats, potatoes, and dairy products like milk and cheese. A well balanced diet can help to avoid gas. Switching to Lacto-Free Milk is a step that can help as well.

Long-term problems take longer to heal. Some experts recommend colon cleansing to speed up the process of reducing the discomfort related to bloating and gas. Colon Cleansing can be done several ways - including at home. Please note that before trying any remedies to treat gas and bloating, it's important to consult with your primary care provider or doctor. This is especially important if you are taking any other meds.
